Knowledge base FAQ

Common questions about modern internal knowledge bases — and how Nashi handles them.

What is a knowledge base?

A knowledge base is a centralised place where a team stores, organises and finds the information it needs to do its work — from how-tos and policies to product docs and FAQs. A modern knowledge base like Nashi adds full-text search, permissions and AI-assisted answers on top.

How is a knowledge base different from a wiki?

A wiki is one type of knowledge base, focused on collaborative editing. A modern knowledge base goes further: structured permissions, search relevance, analytics, and AI answers, so information stays trustworthy as your team grows.

Can we restrict who sees specific articles?

Yes. Permissions are set at the category level and inherited by descendants. You can grant access to individuals, groups synced from your IdP, or whole roles — enforced at the database level via row-level security.

Does Nashi support single sign-on (SSO)?

Yes — SAML 2.0 SSO with major identity providers (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace and others) on Business and Enterprise plans, with optional SCIM provisioning.

How does the AI answer feature work?

Ask AI uses retrieval over your own articles, then drafts an answer with inline citations to the source pages. It only sees content the asker is allowed to read, and you can disable it per category.

Can we import existing content?

Yes. Markdown and CSV imports are built in, so you can migrate content from existing tools without copy-paste.
